Valor Launches Electronics Industry's First eCollaboration Company

e4eNet delivers B2B collaborative engineering network for electronics supply chain

Yavne (Israel), 22 November 2000 - Valor Computerized Systems (NEUER MARKT: VCR), a global leader in providing DFM and CAM software solutions to electronics OEMs and CEMs, today launched e4eNet Incorporated, its new company focused on business to business e-collaboration product and services throughout the electronics supply chain. The e4eNet company has been established to develop and deploy high velocity, global engineering collaboration software using the latest Internet-based communications technologies. The subscription-based software and services will enable electronics OEMs and CEMs to connect engineering work groups, design teams, buyers and suppliers throughout the entire supply chain - regardless of location, language and time zone.

e4eNet's secure web-based technology serves as a virtual engineering project area for all supply chain partners enabling members to view, share and communicate on product data globally in real time, using a standard Internet browser. e4eNet also provides software services for specific global engineering functions, project management, tracking, real time video, VoIP and file sharing. Here, users can store data, manage change, track decisions, conduct real time meetings, organize and view project data from their CAD, CAM, PDM and ERP systems via the web. Subscribers to e4eNet services are united both inside and outside the firewall in a safe, on-line workspace where the entire and extended team can work at maximum velocity.

Today, communications throughout the electronics industry are mixed and unstructured, based on dissimilar systems that are inefficient and unconnected. Just as importantly, the outsourcing trend is changing the way products are conceived, designed and manufactured. The e-collaboration market is a hot issue in the industry and research groups, such as Aberdeen, have forecast that the market for collaborative manufacturing technology will be in the order of US$20 billion by the year 2003.

Commenting on the new company, Schmil Dolberg, CEO at Valor Computerized Systems, Ltd. said, "e4eNet is unique in that it solves this industry communications dilemma with a fully integrated network of servers, secure Internet tools and sophisticated e-collaboration software for the globally dispersed supply chain. Leveraging Valor's vast knowledge, gathered from its success in the electronics industry during the last 8 years, enabled us to identify this market opportunity and establish this vertical niche company."

Leigh Eichel, President at e4eNet, Inc. said, "In working closely with leading OEM and EMS companies as development and beta partners, feedback shows that we have a solution that the industry wants and which delivers tremendous value. Evaluations have shown us that by improving user productivity and supply chain communications, and streamlining the NPI (new product introduction) processes, significant increases in revenues, and more importantly profitability, are realized."

"It is also vital to understand how the e4eNet business model totally differs from other dot.com organizations, who are based on taking percentage cuts of transactions for buying and selling. With us, members pay license and maintenance subscription fees for access to the e4eNet collaboration software tools they choose to deploy. We also receive revenues from value-added consultancy and implementation services," Eichel concluded.

The Power behind e-Collaboration
By consolidating administrative procedures, eliminating non-value added tasks and automating the communications process, e4eNet services directly affect bottom line costs and profitability, increase competitiveness and reduce time to market. Research shows that organizations, which leverage the power of the Internet to communicate during all phases of the product life cycle, will achieve a distinct competitive advantage.

Uniquely, e4eNet vertical niche applications connect the engineering and collaboration decision processes directly to the database level of the CAD/CAM and procurement tools in use throughout the supply chain. These tools enable users to review a design in detail, identify and solve problems and track progress across the supply chain. These applications are based on advanced Java and XML technologies for quick and efficient operations, and graphical viewing is used greatly to achieve an unprecedented level of visibility and understanding.

Managing Change
Possibly the most difficult challenge facing e4eNet is driving international corporations to change current processes and migrate towards a more fluid and virtual structure, reliant on the Internet. Various research studies, from companies such as AMR and Aberdeen indicate that automating the NPI process is a high priority for manufacturers as the pressure heightens to shorten life cycles and get to volume production quicker.

"By proving the real business benefits that e4eNet can deliver, we will overcome the obvious obstacles surrounding an outsourcing migration strategy. The benefits of using a collaboration technology positively affect time, quality and costs while quantitatively improving processes. Our early adopter program involving global blue chip companies will clearly demonstrate this to the industry." said Eichel.

Simple and Secure
> Using the knowledge and power of the Internet means that e4eNet tools are easy to use, very familiar and members require virtually zero training. The Community ASP Edition, which operates outside a corporation's firewall, requires no software installation and can be operational within minutes. The Enterprise Server Edition, operates within the company's firewall, requires a hardware configuration that can be implemented within days. New members within a customer's supply chain can be connected in minutes.

The e4eNet server network allows supply chain partners to collaborate in a high-security and compartmentalized environment. As an application software platform provider, e4eNet adheres to strict security and privacy policies using world-class hardened facilities and proven technologies.

Availability
E4eNet is available using either of the standard browsers, Netscape and Internet Explorer. E4eNet software and collaboration tools are currently in final development and beta testing with the first customer production release on schedule for Q1 2001.
